Recently, the American Beverage Association brought together an unprecedented coalition with the shared goal of building a circular economy for plastic bottles. Together, America's leading beverage companies - The Coca-Cola Company, PepsiCo and Keurig Dr Pepper - joined environmental and sustainability leaders World Wildlife Fund, The Recycling Partnership and Closed Loop Partners to launch the Every Bottle Back initiative.

The goal of Every Bottle Back is simple: decrease the use of new plastic by increasing the collection of our 100% recyclable plastic bottles so they can be remade into new bottles. This means reducing the need for new plastic and fewer bottles that could end up as litter in lakes, rivers and waterways.

Ultimately for this initiative to have an impact, it must demonstrate measurable results.

  • The World Wildlife Fund will use its Resource: Plastic program to accurately measure and track our progress on reducing the use of new plastic.
  • The Recycling Partnership will work to improve access to recycling and help educate consumers better.
  • Closed Loop Partners will invest in modernizing recycling infrastructure to improve collection of our bottles.
