In a time of uncertainty, the Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company is helping in every way it can. To encourage donations of personal protective equipment (PPE) for the University of Iowa Health Care, Atlantic Coke is giving a free AHA! 8-pack box of sparkling water to each person that drops off a donation. Additionally, the independent bottler and distributor has donated 1,000 new sport-cap bottles to UI Health Care to be filled with hospital sanitizing solution and given to staff members.

In March, Atlantic Coke partnered with the Greater Des Moines Partnership to launch the DSM Local Challenge. The rules of the challenge instruct shoppers to share the local businesses they are supporting during the pandemic using the #DSMlocalchallenge hashtag. To participate, shoppers snap photos of their purchases and upload them to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter along with a short blurb that includes the message “I support (name of business)” and the challenge’s unique hashtag. The last step is to tag three friends in their post to inspire others to join in on the challenge and support local businesses. Through the DSM Local challenge, Atlantic Coke and the Greater Des Moines Partnership are helping small and local businesses survive the coronavirus crisis.
