We may be about a week away from Thanksgiving, but if you’re like some of us here at Sip & Savor, you’re already daydreaming about turkey and stuffing, football games, the Macy’s Parade and perhaps even tackling “Black Friday” holiday shopping.  Of course, we’re looking forward to visiting with friends and family, too.

But as we start to plan for holiday travel, making sure we get some exercise during our excursions can often take a back seat. There’s no doubt retail therapy may help you to burn off some of those extra calories from Thanksgiving Day, but there are many simple ways to ensure we keep up with some sort of exercise routine.

Today, we thought we’d share an About.com article with some quick tips to make sure that, just as you plan your holiday meal and your travel itinerary, you also make plans to stay active and exercise.  Maybe a family game of flag football is the way to go for your crowd, or perhaps you’ll be in a place where shoveling will be necessary – and can help to burn calories.  Wherever you may be during the upcoming holiday season, options abound.  Just make sure to think ahead – and squeeze in some activity before the tryptophan kicks in!
