On Friday evening, Americans from coast to coast were watching the opening ceremonies for the London 2012 Summer Olympics – marking the official start to awe-inspiring physical endurance, stories of the underdogs, moments of heartbreaking defeat and jaw-dropping victory that constitute the world’s games.  For the past few days, many of us here at Sip & Savor have watched Team USA compete on the Olympic stage in front of the entire world.

But in addition to watching the Olympics, on Saturday, First Lady Michelle Obama called on communities to support our Olympians by getting up, getting out and getting active through the “Let’s Move!” Olympic Fun Day.  Communities across the nation were encouraged to promote healthy living and to bring together citizens to channel their inner athlete.  If you didn’t happen to participate, you can find out where your local Olympic Fun Day was held - and where similar events are being planned - by visiting the “Let’s Move!” website.

As our regulars readers might know by now that we launched our Clear on Calories initiative in support of the “Let’s Move!” campaign.  Click here for more details on how we’re helping consumers make the choices that are right for them and their families by placing clear calorie labels right on the front of every can, bottle and pack we produce.
