As the days get shorter and the weather gets colder, many of us are setting our eyes to the end-of-year holiday season! However, this time of year can also represent a time of hardship for some families. Here at Sip & Savor we are proud to partner with community-based organizations in towns and cities across the nation that address the needs of these vulnerable populations. One example is The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH), a Brooklyn-based food pantry that feeds over 30,000 people a month.

Last week, they hosted their annual “Harvest Heroes Awards” at their Saratoga Farm in Brooklyn, N.Y. During the event, TCAH honored three local community advocates for their dedicated service to the organization and the people of Brooklyn. TCAH also unveiled their brand new mobile pantry that will enable them to serve more communities throughout New York City and the Burrows. In fact, with this new capability, they plan to reach such an unprecedented amount of communities that they formally changed their name to The Campaign Against Hunger from the BedStuy Campaign Against Hunger, which referred to the neighborhood their headquarters are based in. This event raised nearly $50,000 to help support their busiest time of the year, the holidays!
