From time to time here at Sip & Savor we come across news pieces that are worth sharing with our readers.  And this summer, we’ve been sharing a lot about New York City Mayor Bloomberg and his Board of Health’s proposal to ban the sale of soft drinks over 16 ounces.  This morning in a radio interview, Seth Goldman, president and TeaEO of Maryland-based Honest Tea, spoke out against the ban.

Mr. Goldman said: “I think it just becomes increasingly confusing, complicated and ultimately, not really helping the consumer, when governments start creating barriers…To carry it even further, it actually starts to imperil the capitalist system.”

We agree.  It is not the Mayor’s roll to choose winners and losers in and around New York City by stifling innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and small businesses. We hope you take a moment to listen to the full interview, and to share it with friends and family.
