With grants from the American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America (ABFHA), they are supporting programs to help with health and wellness and environmental efforts in these communities.

In Milford, Del.  the city has made an investment to install new dual trash and recycling containers on the city’s Riverwalk as part of a broader effort to revamp the Riverwalk and help locals enjoy outdoor recreation in the city. The support from the Delaware Beverage Association and ABFHA, helped provide 25 percent of the receptacles which will be critical in decreasing litter and increasing recycling in downtown Milford.

And in West Virginia, with support from ABFHA, the West Virginia Beverage Association partnered with Capital City Striders. Of the industry’s support, Paul Gilmer of Capital City Striders said, “The goal of this grant is to make a significant contribution to the health of local communities by providing funding to community organizations like ours that work to advance both the physical health of their local citizens and the environmental health of their communities.

It is through partnerships like these that the beverage industry is supporting communities nationwide.
