America's leading beverage companies have a longstanding commitment to providing Americans with choices and information. They also have a solid track record of working alongside other stakeholders on critical societal issues, such as combating obesity. Yesterday, two of our public health partners - the Alliance for a Healthier Generation and the Partnership for a Healthier America - announced that they are facilitating collaboration between ABA and the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS). This collaboration will support existing commitments made by each of the associations and their member companies to help Americans in their efforts to reduce sugar consumed from beverages by providing more beverage choice. As Americans hit the road for summer travel, we know many will be stopping for a refreshing beverage along the way. In fact, according to a NACS survey, nearly half of all convenience store customers say that their primary reason to go into a convenience store is to purchase a beverage. We look forward to working with NACS to drive awareness and increase availability of zero-and reduced-sugar beverage choices, including waters, in convenience stores across the country. Here's to supporting Americans on the go!
