Have you ever heard of a gentleman named Alfredo Moser? Neither had we. But we here at Sip & Savor think his story is one you should hear.

Moser is an entrepreneur who used our industry’s packaging to give more than 360,000 homes in 15 countries something they never had before: light.

A Brazilian mechanic, Moser invented a way for people to have light in their homes using none other than a clear plastic soda bottle, some water and a couple teaspoons of bleach. By combining these elements, securing the bottle through a hole in the roof of a home, the end result produced indoor lighting roughly equivalent to a 60-watt light bulb.

As an industry representing some of the most innovative companies in the world, we applaud Moser for changing families’ lives with this simple idea, and for reusing our packaging to do it. Innovation at its finest.
