Today we came across a new study in Nutrition Journal that debunks the myth that added sugars are somehow uniquely responsible for obesity.  Our colleagues at the Corn Refiners Association (CRA) released a statement on the study.  Here’s an excerpt:

“As the researchers conclude, claims that fructose is somehow uniquely responsible for our nation’s obesity epidemic are not only wrong, they are counter-productive to finding effective solutions to this complex health crisis…According to the National Institutes of Health, ‘People gain weight when they eat more calories than they burn through activity. This imbalance is the greatest contributor to weight gain.’”
