America’s beverage industry has a longstanding commitment to the health and well-being of all Americans, and we are fulfilling that commitment by providing thoughtful solutions to very serious societal challenges, like childhood obesity.

For example, we recognize that schools are unique places where parents are not able to help their children make choices about what to eat and drink.  That is why America’s beverage companies partnered with the William J. Clinton Foundation and its Alliance for a Healthier Generation in implementing our national School Beverage Guidelines.  By voluntarily removing full-calorie soft drinks from K-12 schools and replacing them with more lower-calorie and smaller-portion options, we drove a 90 percent reduction in beverage calories shipped to schools.  With this effort – and others like it – we’re delivering change that will have a meaningful and lasting impact for America’s schoolchildren for generations to come.
