Whether it’s in your morning coffee, afternoon tea or occasional soda, caffeine is routinely consumed by billions of people.  That’s why here at Sip & Savor, we think it’s important to keep our readers educated on some important facts about caffeine.

Caffeine is one of the most comprehensively studied ingredients in the food supply, with a record of safe consumption over centuries.  In fact, Pediatrics, the journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics, recently published a paper showing that caffeine consumption among children and adolescents here in the United States hasn’t changed over the last decade.  The same results were found in an analysis (updated in 2012) commissioned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

It’s important know how much caffeine is in your favorite beverages, and there are several ways to find that out.  Most beverage companies voluntarily list the amount of caffeine right on the label.  It’s also easy to find on many company websites, as well as through their toll-free numbers.
