Today people around the world are celebrating Global Recycling Day, however, America's beverage industry prioritizes recycling every day! One innovative way the industry is supporting recycling efforts is through a partnership with the American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America (ABFHA), the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Beverage Association and Bethesda Green, an environmentally-focused community organization.

Using a grant from ABFHA and the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Beverage Association, Bethesda Green is making recycling more accessible in the Bethesda Downtown District by funding the Bethesda Recycles program. This program will give residents more opportunities to conveniently practice recycling in their neighborhoods by increasing the amount of recycling bins in the area.

"Bethesda Green's dynamic community programs are focused on informing residents and inspiring action toward sustainable and innovative solutions for a variety of environmental problems. Ensuring local availability of free, accessible recycling opportunities is an important way to encourage Bethesda residents to recycle more and litter less. It's a win-win for the environment and the community," said Adam M. Roberts, executive director of Bethesda Green.

America's beverage companies are working with key community partners to ensure access to recycling and sustainable solutions are available in every neighborhood. Additional information on the Bethesda Green and the Bethesda Recycles program can be found here.
