Last week in South Florida, representatives from the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, American Beverage Asssociation (ABA) and the Florida Beverage Association (FBA) visited a Miami Lakes supermarket with local government representatives and public health leaders to highlight how we are working together to reduce the amount of sugar consumed from beverages in their community.

Representatives from Coca-Cola Beverages Florida, Keurig Dr Pepper and PepsiCo highlighted, not only the depth of choices consumers have, but also the ongoing work beverage companies are doing to bring more innovation to the beverage aisle. And they are leveraging their marketing strengths to encourage consumers to think balance and choose beverages with less sugar or no sugar at all.

At the conclusion of their visit, Miami Lakes Mayor Manny Cid and Miami-Dade Commissioner Esteban Bovo presented the Alliance for a Healthier Generation and FBA with Certificates of Appreciation for their leadership and work to improve health and nutrition in South Florida's communities.

Across the country, America's beverage companies have a long history of working to support our local communities. For more information about our work to reduce sugar consumed from beverages, please visit www.balanceus.org.
