We’re sure you’ve been caught up in the middle of plenty of news articles or conversations about energy drinks lately.  But have you read this one?  It’s an interesting piece which reminds us that there’s a lot of misinformation out there.

It’s important to put the caffeine content of energy drinks in perspective.  Most mainstream energy drinks contain about half the caffeine of a similar size cup of coffeehouse coffee.  Legislation that seeks to ban the sale of energy drinks is not supported by the facts about consumption.  Policymakers should be aware of the slippery slope such a ban would create. To be consistent, coffeehouses would need to card young adults before serving them coffee or tea.

We recognize that there are public discussions happening about energy drinks – but we’d like to remind our readers that the facts are often overlooked in these discussions.  We look forward to continuing to share those facts with our readers.
