Here at Sip & Savor we often blog about articles and studies we come across about effective ways to lose weight – or maintain a healthy weight. After all, there are some out there who like to point fingers at our industry’s caloric beverages as being “the” cause of obesity – even though science shows that overweight and obesity comes down to an imbalance between calories consumed from all sources and those burned through physical activity and exercise. We’ve also seen some folks attack sugar in its various forms – and we’ve shared differing perspectives on that as well.

Today we thought we’d share something that focuses on all three - a Yahoo! article about a recent study published in Nutrition Journal that shows that people can “lose weight while consuming typical amounts of sugar or high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) if their overall calorie intake is reduced.”  Can’t say the findings surprise us – or that this conclusion is something new.  What is new is that there’s a media outlet reporting on it – so kudos to Yahoo! in this instance.
