Here at Sip & Savor we do our best to encourage folks to get regular physical activity.  After all, we know it is an integral component to living a healthy, balanced and active lifestyle.  But we also know that not everyone actually enjoys working out.  And while we can suggest ways to make it fun and enjoyable, that still may be a struggle for some.  Not everyone gets excited about the latest high-tech running gear – or even the fact that a little extra daylight provides more time for an evening walk.

That is why, today, we are sharing with you an interesting article on TheDailyBeast.com“Is the Will to Work Out Hereditary?” It’s all about “exercise genetics” and “peoples’ varying inclinations to exercise.”  The article also teases a study conducted at Louisiana’s Pennington Biomedical Research Laboratory and coming out this month in the Journal of Applied Physiology which alleges that whether or not those studied “ did or did not become more fit was significantly determined by exactly 21 tiny variations on snippets of their DNA.”

No matter how you feel about physical activity, we do hope you will find ways to incorporate it into your lifestyle – because eating a variety of foods and beverages in moderation is only half the battle when it comes to maintaining a healthy weight.
