Dr. Olajide Williams, a neurologist and medical professor at Columbia University, was paying close attention to the news reports in March about a flu-like virus infecting people in China's Wuhan province. As president of Hip Hop Public Health in New York, Williams' group had for years been teaching positive health behavior through the power of hip hop music. Millions of Americans are still out of work, many because of restrictions put in place months ago in response to COVID-19. Families have had to cut back to make their money go further and that includes what they can spend on groceries. The people who work in grocery stories in cities and towns across America see this day in and day out, and in the Southeast part of the country they came together to do something about it.
Across the country, Americans are stepping up in so many remarkable ways to help their neighbors and communities. Our companies and employees are answering the call with them. While many Americans have been staying at home, essential first responders have continued to show up for work every day to serve their communities. In Tuscaloosa, Alex felt compelled to thank them - in a big way. So he came up with the idea to place "thank you" messages on the typically bare truck backs that have continued to deliver beverages. The messages were printed and applied to his employer's trucks, as well as many other company divisions throughout the southeast. Alex - Thank you and your team for being Hometown Heroes!
An extra special THANK YOU to our entire team for working so hard to start the year off on the right foot! ❤️ #AtlanticFamily https://t.co/QTT3VpKeon

That is why we continue to follow the guidance of federal health agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as it relates to the production and delivery of the wide range of beverages our members make, and the well-being of our employees, consumers and customers. As for packaged food and beverages sold in stores, there is currently no evidence of food or food packaging being associated with the transmission of COVID-19, according to CDC and FDA. Below are some helpful resources and guidance from federal public health agencies.
